MICROPHONES

Ensure you communicate with your presenters about what type of microphones they are expecting or are most comfortable using. While some presenters like to stay at the lectern, others are 'movers' and prefer to utilize a lapel microphone so they are free to walk around. Consider an ear-set mic for presenters who move around a lot. These can either fit around one or two ears, and are inconspicuous. A great benefit of these microphones is that the microphone will always be close to the mouth, making the sound consistent while they turn their head in any which direction. Another advantage is that you’ll have less chance of audio feedback as the mic levels don’t have to be raised as high as sometimes required with a lapel mic. Wireless handheld microphones are a great option so long as your presenter doesn’t need to gesture with both hands, as the mic can be easily held at a comfortable distance with great sound quality. Perfect for Q&A sessions also.

THERE ARE LOT's OF OPTIONS REGARDING MICROPHONES

  • Wireless Handheld mics are sometimes called "Roving Mics"
  • Lavalier/Lapel Mics are great if you have suitable apparel to clip on to such as shirt/jacket/tie
  • Ear-set mics are great for presenters who like to move, and need a superior sound
  • Digital Conference Mics are great for roundtable or panel discussions. You select your mic to make it active.
  • Lectern/Podium mics are great to keep your presenters in one spot, such as when using a videographer.
